Collection: Barns and Buildings

Growing up in Eastern Ontario, you could not help noticing all the barns. The landscape is flat and mostly featureless but they were the one thing that always seemed to stand out.  I've always felt that barns were an integral part of the landscape and not really a man-made structure like, say, a bridge or an office tower. Each one seems unique and somehow, strongly rooted to the ground, like as if it had grown there instead of being built. Perhaps it has more to do with age and the longer something lasts, the more it becomes part of the natural world around us.
