"Island Rock" is situated on the western side of Barnes Lake island. The original watercolour was painted on-site a number of years ago. Whenever I do a plein air painting, I have to securely anchor both ends of my boat. Otherwise it drifts and it is all important to maintain the same view. What surprised me was how deep the water was here even though its only a few feet off the shoreline.

Description
This print depicts a serene scene of large, smooth rocks by the edge of a calm body of water. The rocks are painted in various shades of beige and gray, with subtle highlights and shadows. The water reflects the rocks and has a gradient of blues, ranging from deep to light, creating a tranquil and harmonious atmosphere.
