More often than not, when I go painting with my plein air group, we end up in someone's garden or beside a lake. That sort of thing. But on this day we stopped at a marina which also had an iron works factory beside it. I found these barrels interesting and was quite pleased with the result. Lesson learned: it's not what you paint but how you paint it.

Description
The central subject in this work are three rusted metal barrels arranged side by side. The barrels are painted with a mix of earthy tones, including browns, blues, and oranges, suggesting a sense of wear and weathering. The background features abstract, loose brushstrokes which enhance the texture and depth. The color scheme conveys a warm, rustic atmosphere, with hints of light and shadow interplay. The composition captures a sense of industrial decay in a painterly style.
