Walking on Thin Ice

I live in the country and take daily walks with my dog, Poppy. Most of the time, I'm on total autopilot and hardly remember what I've seen or done during the walk. But Poppy is on an agenda and has to sniff and inspect every little thing. What I may notice, especially if there's a fresh snowfall, are animal tracks and it fascinatess me how much wildlife is in the backyard.
