"Island Rock" is situated on the western side of the sole island on Barnes Lake. This was painted on-site a number of years ago. Whenever I do a plein air painting, I have to securely anchor both ends of my boat. Otherwise it drifts and it is all important to maintain the same view. What surprised me was how deep the water was here even though its only a few feet off the shoreline.

Description

"Island Rock" depicts a serene scene of large rocks resting by the edge of a calm body of water. The smooth surface of the water reflects the pale blue and gray hues of the rocks and surrounding environment.
